Great with food, greater alone!
On the nose light citrus notes, grapefruit and herbal perfume. A good balance between fresh and ripe fruit aromas. It has something chalky to it. Not an explosive wine, but subtle and elegant, extremely well made. The wine is surprisingly light and the acidity in the wine brings freshness to it. Nice long and lingering finish. Ripe, round with low acidity.
The wine is a blend of Macabeu, Carignan blanc and Vermentino in equal parts. Manual harvest and low intervention in the winery, indigenous yeasts and sur-lie ageing. The domain is certified organic for over 10 years.
The winery has been collaborating with Tom Lubbe, the well-known South African winemaker of Matassa. His touch on the wines has been tremendous, giving them elegance and drinkability.
